Motorola Remove 3 Linux-based PDA Phone



Motorola has issued 3 "PDA" Linux-based phones. For while this is only one China, but also recognized by the FCC for use in the U.S. and may also be circulating in Indonesia. MotoMing a1600 and a1800 is a version of high-end version of the popular a1200, but there is also a810, which is a lower-end version of the Sunday model.

MotoMing a1600 and a1800 supports GSM / GPRS phone service (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) with EDGE and GPRS class 10/12 class 10. But no 3G support and no built-in WiFi. A1800 added version with 2 extra SIM slot that supports dual-mode for the exchange between GSM and CDMA.

A1600 or a version in 1800, according to Motorola in the design, with the size 3.8 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches and weighing less than 4 oz. With a 2.4-inch wide screen with 240x320 resolution, 262k colors, support handwriting optical character recognition (OCR), and a card reader, which added 3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom mode.

To support component AGPS / GPS, Motorola add an application "turn by turn navigation", as one or two of the city map that can be loaded from a CD via a computer, where the handphone with a built-in micro USB port. Handphone this support with the Java ME CLDC (Connect Limited Device Configuration) and MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile).
